Evergreen Health Parent Baby Program. Since 1991, EvergreenHealth has been providing support and education for new families. Taught by certified lactation and parenting educators, the topics include; transition to parenthood, feeding, post-partum adjustment, sleep, safety and more. 0-3 month groups are FREE and open to all parents in the community no matter where the baby was born. Groups meet every Tuesday and Wednesday from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. at Evergreen Hospital, Room TAN 1-140, 12040 NE 128th Street, Kirkland. Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. This group meets every Saturday from 11-12:30 in Lakewood, WA. Clients may join the group at any time after meeting with the group facilitator 1-2 times to complete a brief intake and establish individual client goals to address during group. The cost is Pay What You Can, with a suggested minimum of $5 per group session and a maximum of $10 per group session. Any pregnant or postpartum (within first two years after birth) woman by join. This group offer professional and peer support. The average number of group sessions per client is 12-16. Reflective Parenting Workshop. This Parenting Workshop is for parents with children 1-3 years old. This innovative 10-week workshop provides parents with a model which Family Services calls reflective parenting that views children's behaviors as meaningful communications that need to be understood. During groups, parents explore their children's thoughts, feelings, and motivations, as well as their own. This process helps parents understand and respond to their children's behaviors in appropriate and sensitive ways.

LifeCircle Gatherings. These counseling groups in the Seattle metropolitan area are specially designed to facilitate learning, healing, and growth. They offer both peer and professional support in a compassionate and therapeutic setting. Each Gathering meets once a week for eight weeks and is attended by about 6 to 10 registered members. Gatherings are led by Cynthia Good Mojab, an experienced Clinical Counselor and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant whose specialties include working with people during their reproductive and parenting years. Each 8-week-long Gathering focuses on a specific experience, such as infertility; pregnancy loss or infant death; difficult or traumatic birth; perinatal stress, depression, and anxiety; breastfeeding loss, grief, and trauma; parenting a child with special needs; or adoption. Members share companionship on their journeys, harness their strengths, develop and practice new skills, allow grief to unfold, and move toward growth, change, and healing. The sliding scale fee ranges from $240-$400 for a full eight-week group counseling series. Program for Early Parent Support (PEPS). Offering various support groups for new parents. Newborn Program is for parents with babies under four months old; day and evening groups available. Baby Peppers is for parents and older babies. Little Peppers is for families with two children under the age of three. Groups meet for 8 – 12 weeks. Each week, parents discuss the highs and lows of parenting, sing songs, and discuss topics of interest. Cost range is $150 – 200. Scholarships available for those who qualify. Real Moms: Letting Go of Perfect at Swedish's new Lytle Center for Pregnancy and Newborns. Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders are the most common complication of childbirth. Support is available through this 8 week group for any mother experiencing postpartum distress or identifying with the symptoms of a postpartum mood or anxiety disorder (within two years of giving birth). This group will offer peer and professional support for the work of dealing with post-birth emotional challenges while caring for an infant or child. The group will also offer techniques for managing difficult emotions, increasing self-regulation skills, and developing networks to obtain the care that mothers need to thrive and feel successful as parents. Mothers are welcome to bring infants up to age six months along.
$150.00/eight-week series(some scholarship may be available on a case-by-case basis).
Thriving Instead of Just Surviving . Postpartum preparation class at Swedish Medical Center, Seattle. This 2-hour class will give expectant and new parents tools and understanding to help ensure an easier adjustment to life with new baby and postpartum recovery. Cost is $40 per couple. Our parent support groups offer new parents a valuable resource to meet other parents and have children meet and play with other children their age.
