Booklet Orders

We are reaching out to those in our community on behalf of the Board of Directors for Postpartum Support International of Washington. The mission of PSI of WA is to overcome the effects of Postpartum Mood Disorders through early identification and treatment, thereby ensuring a healthy environment in which both mother and baby can thrive together. To these ends we have three goals: to provide personal support to women with PPMD and their families, to educate the public concerning the nature and management of these disorders, and to promote networking among related professionals. Our core services include a toll-free telephone support line, community resources, support groups, and educational outreach to those in our community.

Postpartum Support International of Washington, a not-for-profit organization, has grown tremendously over the past two years, blossoming from a small handful of volunteers into an organization that provides resources across our state, and, in some cases, around the country. In order to sustain this rapid and positive growth, we have been working hard to bolster the infrastructure of our organization, setting the stage for continued growth into the future, so that we may continue to serve women and families in need of the specialized services we offer. But we cannot sustain this growth without the help of those around us.

We would like to encourage you to join us on our mission, and become a member of PSI of WA today. Memberships can be secured at two levels: Professional ($100/year), and Supporting ($50/year). The membership year runs September-August. Yearly renewal letters are sent out to all members each July. PSI of WA is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation; consult with your tax advisor on tax deductions that may apply.

PSI of WA has a multidisciplinary array of supporters, including professionals and nonprofessionals alike. Many of our professional members work with families in their childbearing years, such as OB/GYNs, Pediatricians, Psychiatrists, Family Practitioners, Naturopathic Physicians, Midwives, Psychologists, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Mental Health Practitioners, Social Workers, Lactation Consultants, Doulas, and Childbirth Educators. We are in the process of expanding our provider resource lists to include professionals from these various areas.

Some of the benefits of membership include:

• Quarterly PSI of WA e-newsletters
• Email alerts of important PPMD-related community information
• Opportunities to network with a wide variety of professionals working in related fields
• The ability for Professional Members to apply to be listed in our professional directory for those demonstrating advanced training and experience with PPMD. This provider list is sent out to numerous providers/agencies across the state, is used by volunteers on the Warm Line to provide resources, and will be posted on the PSI of WA website.

We sincerely hope you will consider joining us through the gift of membership, so we can continue to serve families affected by Postpartum Mood Disorders. Please join with us as we work toward helping all Washington parents and their babies thrive.
